What’s The Cause About?

The cause is to support, Umm Gabe, an American revert Muslim mother from Pennsylvania who has three children. Two of her children are disabled with serious life-threatening conditions requiring close medical attention and support. Her younger son, Aaron, is a year old and has a very rare syndrome called Nager syndrome as well as chronic lung disease. He is running on a ventilator and his fight for life has been an inspiration to many. From the second Aaron was prematurely delivered he was in respiratory failure. Aaron was born with almost no lower jawbone and premature lungs, which made it impossible for him to breathe on his own. Her older son, Gabe, is also disabled with a congenital heart disease known as Tetralogy of Fallot. Both children need ongoing support and specific necessary resources to get them through their daily lives. Of them includes a handicapped vehicle for transportation purposes. Currently, Umm Gabe’s car transmission system died and she is left with no vehicle now. This is a major hardship for a mother with two disabled children who must attend frequent medical monitoring and treatment appointments.

Why it matters?

With two children’s lives at stake, the reason why the cause matters are significantly evident. Being a mother and solely raising two disabled children is a complete-life commitment. It requires significant strength, motivation, and support from others. As a revert, she has faith in Allah and that is what keeps her going each day. However, she is also in desperate need of direct help from the community as well. Recall this profound narration of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him):

On the authority of Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) who said, ” Whoever relieves a believer’s distress of the distressful aspects of this world, Allah will rescue him from a difficulty of the difficulties of the Hereafter. [Sahih Muslim]

How Funds will be utilized?

All funds will be utilized directly for the sole purpose of the medical treatment and transportation needs of her two disabled children, Aaron and Gabe. Receipts will be provided to donors upon request.
