What’s The Cause About?

The cause is to support emergency medical treatment for a local sister in the New Jersey area. She goes by Umm Yusef and is a practicing Caucasian revert Muslimah for over three years now. Umm Yusef is a hard-working mother in her 30s. She has 5 children and her non-Muslim family does not support her.

Umm Yusef has Vitamin D Deficiency and when her first tooth chipped in the past it began to develop into an infection. Unable to afford full proper treatment, she began temporary treatment by taking some antibiotics to help fight the infection. However, as time progressed, the infection inevitably continued to spread to her front teeth after it completely cracked in half. If not treated properly other than antibiotics, the infection can continue to spread and cause major health risks. Proper treatment would include root canals and crown replacements.

Why it matters?

Tooth infections are known to spread to the bloodstream, present major health issues, and potentially even lead to death in some cases. According to her dentist, Umm Yusef requires a root canal as soon as possible to manage the root and eliminate the spreading infection. Umm Yusef suffers severe tooth pain which is worsened when she eats. Convert/Revert Muslims need special care as they typically are in situations where they do not have adequate support from their family members. It is therefore an honorary act to support reverts Muslims to the best of our abilities. Recall this profound narration of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him):

On the authority of Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) who said, ” Whoever relieves a believer’s distress of the distressful aspects of this world, Allah will rescue him from a difficulty of the difficulties of the Hereafter. [Sahih Muslim]

How Funds will be utilized?

All funds will be utilized directly for the sole purpose of Umm Yusef’s medical treatments. Receipts will be provided to donors upon request.
